Lift-the-Flap Mouse and Cheese Mock Up Illustration

This lift-the-flap illustration mock up happened by accident when I found a small piece of bright yellow card that reminded me of the colour of cheese you get in cartoons, especially the Tom and Jerry cartoons.

I initially created a rough in a sketchbook which took no time at all. Although you could see it is a mouse behind the flap I wanted an element of surprise – which is were the mouse’s large sharp teeth came in. Completing the lift-the-flap illustration was so much fun and took less than an hour using acrylics and a fine liner on watercolour paper, permanent markers on the cards, glue and scissors.
